1. Your best FO of the year:

A tie between my Hot Mama socks and all the little Baby surprise Jackets once I had mastered them. It is soooo cold I wear these socks all the time and the color is so crazy it makes me happy.

2. Best FO of the year made by a blog you link to:

Fabulous color sequences of the Double Helix as demonstrated in the Beautiful Circus Blanket II and the Saturn Shawl which happened to be made for my birthday!

3. Best yarn you tried:

Sheep Shop 3 luscious silk and merino, bright vivid color ways.

4. Best new book/mag/pattern of 2007: especially loved:

Fitted Knits by Stephanie Japel. Nice stuff

5. Best new knitting technique or gadget you tried in 2007:

My portable fold up wooden swift.

6. Top 5 inspirations--what five things inspired you the most over the past year?

Knitting circles, knitting with friends.
Charity knitting- warming up little people
The beauty of sock yarn and the feel of hand knitted socks.

7. Designer who most amazed & inspired you throughout the year:

I would have to say Elizabeth Zimmerman. For years I eschewed her and pooh-poohed her, chasing after more sparkly patterns and the “slick and groovy”. But after looking through the Knitting Workshop, light dawned on Marblehead (a Boston Joke ya’ll) and I finally understood the simple elegance and ingenious construction of her knitting. This explains the 5 little sweaters I made from her patterns last year.

8. Knitting resolutions for 2008--what's next for you and your blog?
To continue Charity knitting with an emphasis on socks and mittens, and to finish more beautiful and wearable garments. My Maxwell Jacket needs a break !


On the home front, progress is making it's way on my big red sweater. I finally got some new glasses after losing my fab Burberrys. Grief makes you crazy. Knitting helps, but generally life is just unreal.
