The Light in August

Well, just ignore the little man behind the booth. The one who misplaced the Frapper Map in the last post !

Well let's play a little catch up ! I hadn't posted how lovely it was to spend time with Margaret Wilson of Mostly Merino Farms. She is one of the nicest people on the planet and her human warmth is some how translated into the wooly goodness of her yarns. Remember that old advertising adage ( I am dating myself here) "Contented Milk from Contented Cows " ? Well. I purchased some of her natural wool to make a simple shawl. It was a kit complete with a triangular shawl pattern.

Speaking of triangular shawls here is the one I made over July 4th holiday, now a work in progress. It was ok, but it was just two small. So I am adding a border, log cabin style with some blackberry ridge yarn in a teal color. What fun. I think it will be great with jeans. Right now I am wearing it with the addi still in it.

It looks as if my sock yarn baskey is overflowing. Unfortunately sock production has had seversal set backs that I wll post about later. But I have been knitting these darling little hats that popping out from the sock yarn. I have my own little Charity Project with an orphanage in China that will take anything. More on that later.

My Darling knit sister KDay and here daughter are involved in raising funds to build an orpahage in Ethiopia. Please click
HERE to see the fabulous shawls that they are selling or if you prefer, Kday will make you a pair of socks.

Here is a pix for Gina. It is Winston, my furry husband. Bitty tolerates me, Marvin loves me, but Winston is done right obsessed, He lays on me panting, and swiping me with his big furry paw if I am not petting him fast enough.
I do not know how he fits himself in there, but he loves to slept in my top drawer !

Enjoy Labor Day.

I so wanted to come by and re-introduce myself to Margaret but I ended up having to work that weekend. You are really cranking out those hats!
