But of Course...

Your Inner European is Swedish!

Relaxed and peaceful.
You like to kick back and enjoy life.

A few weeks ago, I was conversing through email with a friend and asked how her blog was doing. She stated that she hadn’t blogged in a while and that what she really wanted to write in her blog was a topic that she thought would not be of interest to many people. Basically she was thinking of an entry about blogging. It seems that a friend of hers (Siouxie) has a blog and has friends that also blog. Once she went out with these other bloggers and she felt out of the loop because all they wanted to talk about was blogging. Then when she made a comment on a blog, she would not get the courtesy of a response back and would feel a little put out. That’s when I said, "In the High School of blogging, Sioxie and her friends are the cheerleaders and we are the black turtlenecked malcontents. My friend said. “But I don’t want to feel that way and so I stopped blogging”. (Narrative altered)

I agree.

That is why I focus on blogs of folks I have come to know through one venue or another. I haven’t had time lately to read a lot of the other blogs, not that I don’t enjoy them or think don’t they are wonderful. I ‘m just focusing on my girls. And
Dean

And besides I would rather be a black turtleneck geek any time.

But I have noticed something really wonderful.
I met Nik through Gina's
Now I see Gina and Kat's blog are linked on Brother Dean B’s blog
Nik and Suzanne, 2 knitting biologists, I see have found each other.
I can't say that these folks hooked up because of my blog, but i would like to yhink so.
It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Really.

LOL. I'm always ridiculously touched when someone that I don't know links to my blog. I'm ever the outsider nerd. ;)

I can't imagine talking about the act of blogging. I am very grateful for the friends I have met through blogging, and now I am even more grateful that when I see them, we talk about knitting and spinning and fibery stuff, not blogging!

I guess I'm the tom-girl. Too busy playing sports to be part of the popular crowd, but don't have the black turtleneck required to be a full-fledged member of the malcontents.

I think my conversation about blogging would go something like this, "you should blog this" and that would be it.

I've enjoyed all the folks I've met through blogging (very few in real life). More importantly, I've learned a lot about myself. I've learned that my life isn't as dull and boring as I thought it was. I've learned that there are very few rights and wrongs in knitting (and in life).

I blog for me, not for popularity. Heck, I never expected anyone to read it in the first place.

There's a strange sense of community to it all, whether or not folks hooked up because of your blog. Just knowing that people might be thinking about you somewhere is good.

Blogging is worthwhile just for yourself, too, just to have a record of what you were doing and thinking about (and when you started your projects)

I don't blog (at least I don't count what I do on my Live Journal account to be blogging), and I rarely comment on other people's blogs. It seems an imposition, and then I fear I'd like some recognition that I said something nice or whatever. My issues, though. -Rebecca H.

Hey, I know you from the Eclipse parties. And I know Suzanne in real life, and Kat and Martita (newly) in blogland. Those are some wonderful malcontents, and I'm delighted to be a part of this group. Now that I've found your blog, I'll be reading. Hope to see you in real life soon.
